Features Of Artifact Weapon

An artifact refers to an object created or carved especially a tool, weapon, ornaments, etc. of archaeological or historical interest by mankind which acts as the tool of survival and were developed by using the available resources. An artifact weapon is a unique weapon exhibiting some extraordinary properties. These weapons can be acquired by sacrifice, can be found in the dungeons and in a bones file, etc.

List Of Artifact Weapons
There are certain limitations of the artifact weapons, like:
1) If in any case, two or more artifact weapons have been carved then your wish for another may be failed.
2) If you wish for another classs quest artifact, if you cannot wish for your own quest artifact then make sure that it should be of same alignment as yours, else you will not be able to pick it up. But if it is of your alignment then, no doubt, you can use it, but it will blast.
3) But if any artifact is of wrong alignment, then it may blast you every time you pick it up or handle it.

The following is the list of various artifact weapons of the ancient times.
1)Cleaver: It is an artifact battle-axe which was the first sacrifice weapon for Barbarians and was used to do +d3 to hit and +d6 damage.
2)Demonbane: It is a lawful long sword with +1d5 to hit and to go for double damage against all proper demons like Pestilence, Famine, djinn, sandestins, etc.
3)Excalibur: It is a mythical sword which can be acquired if you are lawful, level 5, and if it had not been generated earlier. It can be acquired by praying strongly with good luck which is known as Crowning.
4)Dragonbane is a broadsword which can double the damage against the dragons.
5)Grayswandir is a silver saber which has the capability of doing double damage and silver damage. Though, it is non-intelligent, it can be used by the non-lawfuls who can withstand the blasting damage of d20. It also prevents hallucination.
6)Grimtooth is an orcish dagger which has +d2 to hit and +d6 damage against all monsters.
7)Longbow Of Diana: It is a chaotic bow designed especially for wishing purposes. It was first appeared in NetHack 3.3.0 by the name of The Longbow of Artemis and was later on renamed in NetHack 3.40. On being carried, it confers telepathy; on being wielded, it confers reflection, and on firing arrows, it has +d5 to hit. Its most significant feature is that a blessed bow can produce around 21 arrows at once but in case of a cursed bow, it will only produce around 11 at once.
8)Magicbane is an artifact magical knife which is considered for skill purposes. It imposes various effects and damages on attacking the monsters like Cancel monster, Probe monster, Stun monster, and Scare monster. These attacks add an additional damage of 1d4 with an enchantment of +2 for optimizing the magic attacks. It is also capable of resisting 95% of curses forwarded to the wielder. It was first received by Wizards as their first gift from their god after making a sacrifice.

Therefore, in this way the various artifact weapons were created which were used for various purposes.
